New job - wait? do it? Hmmmm

We already filed and our 341 is scheduled for Dec. 4th. In the meantime, DH just got an offer letter on a new job. Is this something we need to mention at the 341? The pay on the new job is about $5K LESS than what he makes now. The benefits and opportunity for promotion are great though. His current company is looking like it will fold soon so he wanted to get out on his terms.

Also, I was looking into signing up as a substitute at our daughter's pre-school. They need the help, they are willing to pay, AND my kids would get to spend the time in the parent's day out program for free - a huge perk in the hibernating winter months of Indiana. Should I hold off until after the 341? Or is this so insignificant that it wouldn't matter? I would think they would call me 1-3 times a month to fill in for 2 hours here and there. I can't imagine getting paid more than $50 a month - if that.

You will be asked about expected changes in your income. The answer to your questions regarding taking jobs is really dependent on what it does to your income and expense schedules. If you have enough money left to fund a 13 that's where they'll push you.

Even if it does force you into a 13, that may be better than no job at all.
