Just filed today. Have a few questions about USAA

We filed Chapter 7 today. We have about 60k in unsecured debt, not to mention two financed cars. One of the cars (2000 BMW) I want to give back, as we're upside down. The other car, who is also financed with the same bank, we want to keep. That said, interest rate is high and if we are going to reaffirm, it'd have to see the interest cut in half and a little taken off the principle. Otherwise, I'd rather have them take it back too.

Problem: We have EVERYTHING through USAA:
    Checking
    Savings
one credit card with a $20k balance that will be discharged.
2 car loans (one we want to reaffirm, one we'd like to give back).
    homeowners' insurance
    auto insurance.

Question: 1. Surrendering a car to them, are they going to be open to negotiating new loan terms on the car we want to keep?
    2. Should I be looking for a new checking/savings account, like, NOW, before this BK hits my credit report in the next few days? I assume they'll drop me there, too.
    3. How ridiculous do auto rates go after filing ch7? I am considering pre-emptively switching to someone else asap, as I'm sure USAA won't renew our policy.

Also, traditionally, how willing are lenders on re-negotiating terms of an auto loan so they don't have to repo?

Thanks in advance. Now I wait for a hearing date, and I'm scared shitless.

I have USAA. I just got my discharge which included about 45K of CC debt from them.

So far: They have restricted my online access, and renewed my car insurance. I am not sure if they will let me keep a bank account there, or keep my insurance going now since my discharge. I preemptively opened an account at a local CU just in case.

As the days/weeks go by I will gently ask if I can keep banking there or not, fully expecting them to drop me like its hot.

As for the other things I don't know if they will play ball or not.

You most likely will lose online access and paperless statements. You'll get them mailed to you and will be limited to banking by phone. You will most likely lose access to their shopping services too since online access is revoked. Your insurance may not be renewed or if it is, it maybe at a higher rate due to lower credit score.

So if you want online access and services such as bill pay, I'd look around for a new bank/credit union for a checking account.
