    Great.....I got a bonus!

Just received a $4,000 bonus. Crud!
Question - does this really count as "income"?
Is there any special place I can list this as a bonus - instead of including it as "regular" income in my 6mo look back period?
Bonuses are not the norm. This is truly a one time only thing.

We plan on filing in December.

    Thanks for any advice.

It belongs on the means test but you may be able to exclude it on your schedule I.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

        Have you already filed?
If not it will only delay it slightly.

I had to put off filing for a year, then got a 5 digit income tax return, which put if off another few months.

I already paid my retainer - so I think I'm required to "file" in the next 3 months.
I'm going to ask him about it at our next meeting....

Talk to the lawyer about it.

'Hub and I get a 'Retirement Stipend' from a Trust in January of each year. We had to wait out six months or 180 days from that payout until we could file.....

              Good luck to you.

I paid our retainer of 1800 three years ago, originally planning a Ch 13.

We then waited for other medical reasons, and are three years out.

We are now planning a Ch 7, based on expenses and income decrease, and are having the attorney use the excess funds in other areas that we need to defend or attack.

I don't think there is a requirement for filing within a certain date of paying the retainer.

We are also in Florida. Middle District.
