    Ch. 7, surrendering home/tax question.

Not sure if this is a silly question, but even though we are surrendering our home, we did pay real estate taxes and mortgage interest for the first 5 months of the year -do we still get a 1098 for our 2009 taxes? I assume they are legally required to issue one, as they always are....

Yes, you should still get these statements and you will still be able to include them in your taxes if you are still able to itemize your deductions.

Thanks! The being able to itemize this year is a big IF!

At least you can smile because they cannot issue you a 1099 for a forgiven debt.
Filed Ch7 5/28/09 (Pro Se) Orlando, 341 7/01, UST selected case for audit 7/01, Last day for objection 8/31. Audit report filed 9/10, no material misstatements. Discharged and closed 9/22/2009
