Obama Plan - Chapter 7 no reaffirmation

    Hi Everyone,
I filed and just received my chapter 7 discharge, case closed.

I did not reaffirm my mortgages, but they are current. However, the mortgage costs me a large percentage of my income. I am debating whether to stay or walk away and rent for awhile. Problems with that where we live is rural and hardly any rentals and I don't want my children to change schools, so I am just not sure right now. If I stay, it will continue to be a struggle with this large mortgage.

Anyway, is it possible to do the Obama plan refinance post 7 discharge if you did not reaffirm?

I apologize if this was already asked.

    Thanks much !

You wont be able to refinance but you might be able to do a loan mod. But keep in mind if you do this you will be signing new contracts and locked in.

I am not sure though if you can do a loan mod after BK...

Before you agree to anything I would strongly advise you discuss this with your attorney if you used one.
Signing anything at this point may do away with your ride through on your property as such.
