    Switching Lawyers

I am asking this for a friend who is also filing BK, she does not have a computer otherwise she would be on here herself....I would make her because she is driving me crazy with questions that I am on here researching for her! LOL!
She retained a lawyer in August and was set to make payments to file a ch. She wants to switch lawyers, she has only paid him about $500 and doesn't care if she gets it all or any of it back. The lawyer I just retained costs quite a bit less, he will file within days of receiving all the necessary documents where her lawyer says it takes 3 or 4 months for their office to file but if she wants to pay an extra $500 they can file in 2 months.
What does she need to do to switch lawyers? Nothing has been filed yet, she has just been referring creditors to the lawyer. She has an appointment to meet with my lawyer next week, does she need to do anything before she goes or just tell him at the beginning of their appt and then if she likes him as much as I did and wants to retain him does she just call her other lawyer and remove him?
    Thanks!

If she is willing to lose the $500 already paid, and nothing has been filed yet, then she can just switch to the other lawyer whenever she wants. The first lawyer got paid for answering all the collection calls, and since there is no formal case number no paperwork will have to be switched over.
You can't take a picture of this. It's already gone. ~~Nate, Six Feet Under

Awesome, thank you so much. That is what I thought but didn't want to misdirect her.
