We recently retained an attorney for Ch 7 and will file soon. My big fear is USAA's reaction. We owe about $25k on a USAA cc and have an auto loan. We are current on the auto and will continue to be but they also insure our home and vehicles. Can they cancel these policies? Will they? Does anyone have recent experience with USAA and bk?

Your insurance policies will be fine, as long as you're making the payments, whether they are the carrier or the agent.
There is a thread here somewhere about USAA doing a repo without filing for a stay. IIRC that poster intended on surrendering anyway, but since they had grounds, took them to court and forced USAA to return the vehicle. No Asset 7 closed 11/09

I and ex had a joint account with USAA, CC, Auto Ins and Homeowners. Got divorced and ex filed Ch7 and I was stuck with the whole amount. The end result was I didn't pay, they did a charge off and sent me a 1099. USAA operates like a credit union only with more power.Filed Ch7 5/28/09 (Pro Se) Orlando, 341 7/01, UST selected case for audit 7/01, Last day for objection 8/31. Audit report filed 9/10, no material misstatements. Discharged and closed 9/22/2009

I have 2 USAA credit cards, personal loan and auto loan that I just BK'd on. Total is about $45,500. I'm going to do a ride through on the auto loan though.Spoke to their BK department and they agreed to just keep payments current rather than reaffirm. Anyways, I have insurance through them as well and they just renewed it. No change in premiums, etc. All they did so far was take away my online access. Stinks cause it makes paying the insurance and car loan harder. I'm just going to sign up for auto debit.9/22/2009 - officially filed chapter 7
11/03/2009 - scheduled 341 - COMPLETED
