    vacation?

I'm waiting for my house to finish short sale. I'm hopeful that it will work out but am preparing for BK if it goes into foreclosure. It's been a 10 month process so far.....

Anyway I want to book my honeymoon and use my CC. I have very little CC dept but need to use it for this trip. It will cost about $3k. If I do BK will this be a huge problem? I'm not planning on BK for 6 months if I even need to do it at all....

    please help, thanks!

that's probably not a good idea. It will be seen as a luxury purchase, and can be ojbected to by the credit card company. If you knew you had to pay the 3k back, would you still go?

If the answer is yes- then do it. Just expect that that debt will be non dischargable. If the answer is no- don't do it, and either pay for it yourselves with cash, or go somewhere cheaper.

      Seconding jribes good advice.

You might also want to think hard about filing prior to your marriage. Marriage makes everything way more complicated with BK. You can file on your own, but the spouse income gets considered under totality of circumstances.

I am getting married 4/12, and if I had tried to file post-marrage I would go from being a simple 7 to one harsh 13, I have no doubt. Our combined income for just two people will be just over six figures and I am sure they would have told me to stuff it.

        1. If your short sale goes through you wont be filing BK?

If that's truly the case then funding your honeymoon on your CC is not an issue.

        2. If your short sale doesn't work out you plan on filing BK?

If that's the case, follow the advice of the 2 previous posters.

Sounds like you have to wait until the deal with your house is final.
