    Discharged in L.A. 6 months post 341!!!

For all of you considering, this is the best decision I have ever made for myself. I finally feel free. I am definitely celebrating!

If you're in Los Angeles and wondering why your case is still open, all you have to do is call. It had been 6 months since my 341, so I called the bankruptcy clerk in L.A. (no wait) and politely asked if she could check the status of my case. She asked for my case number, then came back a few minutes later and said she went ahead and discharged it! I checked pacer today and it discharged and closed!

Thank you to everyone here for all your support and advice. I couldn't have done it without you. Now I have my life back.

Good for you, I'm so jealous...I set you were sitting on pins and needles for the last 4 months. I'm wondering after the 60 days is there anything they can do to you? Or is it just paper works..
Have a good life...you deserve it!!

I was a no asset case, I think they just forgot about me.

I didn't mind waiting 6 months because my IRS payments and student loans were all in deferment while the case remained open. I do have to deal with those now, but that's nothing compared the the $1000/mo I was paying in minimum payments at 28%!

I qualified for an economic hardship deferment on all my federal loans, but still no luck with Wells Fargo private. They won't budge. I've even researched defaulting on them. Maybe they'll magically disappear.

I keep reading posts about Wells Fargo which is suppose to be one of the best, strongest banks. I have to wonder if they really are, or if they are playing a game of cat and mouse? BOA too does not want to foreclose and puts it off hoping something will change. Maybe they are hoping RE values will instantly pop back up while they over pay their top mgmt and lay off the rest of their staff?
