How long has it been since your discharge? Have you re-established yourself with other credit or will this be the first inquiry?

Do you have other debt or have you kept your DTI very low?
Right now the lenders are really checking everyone out so it does depend on how you look to the card issuer. Some are BK friendly, but I don't know how care credit is specifically. This link from FicoForums discusses that Care Credit is BK Friendly, but you will want to check it and others for yourself: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/bo...hread.id=61835

I actually have not yet filled but I wanted to inquire because If there is no hope in getting medical financing after I will need to try to start saving for the procedure through pre-tax dollars with me employer . However my surgeon told me to inquire on care credit first. However he is not aware that I am in the process of bk.

So I guess my best bet would be to start saving pre-tax $ for my surgery.

my experience with care credit was horrible; if you can stay away from them- please do!

Long story short: a doctor charged me for services not performed (and in advance) which is all against care credit policies- he wouldn't refund me anything, and care credit wouldn't take it off my bill either. Needless to say- they're included in my BK.

As far as the lasik- look into Wells Fargo Financial or Citi Financial- they usually have those types of programs for bad credit. Either that, or just save up. The HSA help a lot too. If you're having the full amount deducted from your paychecks for the year; you can get it down now.

          Thanks jribe

Well that is great to know because the surgeons office makes care credit out to be the best otpion but apparently not . I this I will just do the FSA. I did not know that you could get the procedure done now if you are going to have it taken out over 1 year . It is open enrollment time so I will have to enquire on that .
