    insurance payment?

Recently my wife took a little ride in an ambulance. The bill was $1580 and her insurance co. payed the full amount.
However, the insurance check is wrote out to my wife and not the ambulance co.
I am NOT going to deposit this check in our account.
If we sign over this chek to the ambulane co. would it be considered a case of preferential payment?
This is a confusing situation for me.
We live in Mo. and have not filed or retained a lawer yet
    Thanks

I think you would be okay to sign the check over. However, if you want to really be sure, return the check to the insurance company and have them cut a new one to the ambulance company. That can involve a lot of hassle.

I hope the Mrs. is okay.

I would ask the ambulance company if they would cut you a deal...but they already know about the check so probably no dice...
