Ok to pay retainer to different/new attorney ?

I paid a $ 100 retainer to an attorney in august, but now, as i am having second thoughts, i now wish to hire a different attorney to represent me in bk.
Any problems with that ? Do i need to contact the first 'guy' to let him know that i changed my mind ?....
I did sign a retainer agreement with the first one, which states that any monies paid are his, but it does not state whether or not i would have to pay the rest if i back out.....

Your input is appreciated ! Thanks !

Check the contract, but if you don't have confidence in this attorney talk to another attorney, if you owe a balance that can probably be included in the bankruptcy if the lawyer chooses to press the issue, which he or she probably won't.
I am a Pennsylvania Eastern and Middle District Bankruptcy, FDCPA, FCRA and Foreclosure Defense attorney, information I post is based on experience in these districts. It is not legal counsel, consider it friendly counsel.
