But really, I don't think the $1,000 is the two checks to my mother that were both under $500. I really have no idea what the $1,000 preference is.

The saab is showing as fully administered and abandoned by the trustee on the interim report table so it is not that.
This is strange that the trustee did not specifically list what the $1,000 preference was for from his interim report. Do you know when he will file his report of assets after the interim report ends? Is this something you would need to get in touch with your attorney about?

      My attorney is "on vacation".

Frankly I am not worried about it. The preference will eventually be listed when the schedule of assets get posted. It may be a typo for all I know, and he is listing the entire $10,000 saab as a preference.

Either way, what is important to me is that he showed all my other assets fully administered.

My case has not been changed to an asset case in pacer yet since the report of assets hasn't been filed.

How close to filing did you last send Mom a check and how much time elapsed between the two payments? Do you have a history of sending Mom some money? Care for an elderly parent is an allowable expense.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

I gave my mom money regularly. Especially when I was making my higher salary. She was not a creditor in fact it is the other way around if anything, although the money was always a gift to her, not a loan. There are two payments of slightly under $500 that would fall in the preference window from what I can tell, looking at my checking statements last night.

well, the first $200 of inside payments are exempt i think, at least under the federal exemptions. so it would be under $800. could it be something else? and does the trustee actually have your checking statements for a full year?? if not, then instead of checking your statements, i'd look through your petition for the $1000 amount. maybe you already have...
