Mortgage co not taking payments after BK7?

Has anyone had trouble with their mortgage co not accepting payments? All through the bk they still sent us statements. We continued to pay. We planned on reaffirming but since dh is still unemployed its not a good move.

They finally this month stopped sending statements. I called and told them we didn't receive one. So she puts in the computer to send us one. But we never got one. So I just copied last months statement changed the due date and sent a check. I sent it two weeks ago and it still hasn't cashed.

The loan is with AHMSI.

Has anyone had trouble with the mortgage co not taking their payments?
What did you do? What happens if you stop making payments? I'm not liable for the balance, but i'm sure they could take they house, right?

Call your mortgage company and ask to speak to their BK dept. We stopped receiving statements and had to send the payments to another address.

Once you are discharged, some companies will start sending statements and allow you online access.

FYI, send your payment in early. I am finding it takes about 10-12 days for them to process the payment.

and yes, if you stop making payments, they will take the house -you just won't have to pay the balance

edit: oops -I just saw you were discharged already. They may want you to send payments to a difference dept at another address. If you call and the person can't help you, hang up and try again!

You need to call and pay it - or call and ask. Call the BK dept as suggested above. Because some lenders interpret sending you the statement as a violation of the automatic stay, and so they don't send it.....but if you don't pay it, they WILL file for relief from the stay, like mine did....so make sure you call if you intend on keeping the house.

Any payments we did make were put into a suspense account and not applied towards the balance, because they (I guess) have to wait and see what your intentions are with the property. If you don't intend to keep it, don't pay a dime cause all that suspense account $$ is gonna be kept towards fees.

GMAC has allowed us to stay with online access. In fact they haven't even marked it as IIB on our credit report.

Wells had us a sign a letter for our HELOC so we can get statements again, but they come from the BK Department. I just make those payments at a branch.

Our 2nd mortgage is with the CU and we have had no problems. We called and were able to start the automatic withdrawal back up.

I just got home checked and the payment went through. Never fails as soon as yea question. My problem gets solved. lol

So now I need to find out if the amount is being deducted from the balance.
They transferred our loan right before we filed so I never set up an online access. I wonder if i will even be able to now. I know when I called the other day it went right to a person. Didn't give me the choice of the automated.

See ours didn't do anything either until this month. We were discharged over 2 months ago. Give them time.
