Who the heck is calling me anyway??

I can not understand one single creditor that is calling me. BOA called me this am, and I swear, they were not even close to getting my name right, so I just said wrong number. THe name wasn't even in the same ballpark.

How am I even going to discuss my finances if I wanted to, with someone I can't understand??

SO, If I say wrong number, they say the number will be removed. Will they start sending letters then, or will they be inclined to sue faster?

    Thanks
    Filing cpt.7 11/09 341- 1/21/10
    Report of no distribution 1/21/10
Scheduled for discharge 3/22/10 (on my 15th wedding anniversary!)

They will send letters to you. They might also start calling your employer, relatives, friends and neighbors to try to locate you. BofA was the most aggressive of my creditors until I retained my lawyer and gave them that information.

I got tired of getting 10 calls a day from recordings so I called all my creditors and both my mortgage companies and told them that I was filing bankruptcy as soon as I had the money to retain an attorney. I gave them the name and number of the attorney that we were going to use, and the phone calls pretty much stopped. I have gotten a few since but just knowing that they would be off of my back for a little while helped.

If you intend to file BK, then there is no use speaking to these collectors until you have retain an attorney. As 'bkmom28' stated, once you give the creditors your attorneys name and number, the calls pretty much cease (although the creditors has the right to call you right up until you file BK).

I told my creditors that I was filing and that slowed them down. After I retained my attorney and would gave them his number they literally stopped. I had a few creditors that would call my cell phone and I just went on Verizon's website and blocked their calls. I stopped paying my bills a year ago and it has been over 6 months since I got a creditor call other than my mortgage company. None of my family members have been called.
