Yes, as I mentioned in my post, I had to endure a long interrogation about my bankruptcy for my clearance. I even had to give them the creditors that I listed, how much I owed and what assets I was keeping and what I was getting rid of. Sure they could have pulled my petition...but I think they wanted to see if I would be honest and provide it.
They could have denied my clearance based on bankruptcy not simply because I filed...as you stated that is illegal...but they can base it on my character. What kind of person has to file for bankruptcy...they look for the reasons and the background behind why I filed... can I be bought...can I be manipulated... is money a weakness... that kind of stuff.
