What was your credit score at time of filing?

I have a feeling the mods may not like this question. I don't know if I am going to become past due before filing. I am trying not to, to keep my scores up (I've got about 2 months I can continue to pull this off). But I don't want my scores to look abnormally high at time of filing.

So what was your credit score at time of filing?
    Filed 10/8/09
    341 11/2/09
    Last Day For Objections 1/4/10
    Discharged 1/5/10

Higher the better at time of filing, makes the rebuilding process easier they say.... Mine were in the low 700's, never late, and many, many who have filed have perfect credit.

Don't worry about it being "abnormally high" lol...Besides, I have never heard of anyone in the BK court giving an Eff about the score prior to filing.
    7-2-2009 Filed

Curious who is going to look at your credit score when you file, and why would they care if it is high ? High credit scores don't play a factor in filing for bk, you don't have have poor credit to file.

      BTW mine was about 728-740

My score was in the 790's before I got into my credit mess. I don't care to look at my score now, although I did pull my free credit reports to make sure everything was included and I was also curious if my business debt was now showing on my reports since it was late.

Ok that makes me feel a little better. You filed with a higher score. I am down to a 680 now. I lost 70 points over the last year just because of limit decreases.

I thought the trustee might run a report. Or the card companies would do a soft pull and be more likely to complain.

No, the trustee does not pull your credit. The only impact your score has pre filing is what you might see post discharge. The better your credit before you file the better it will be after. But nothing gets rid of the fact that you're a BK survivor. It will follow you around for a long time. Your credit card companies can pull credit reports at any time and they often do. If you're worried about the cards you're trying to keep after the bankruptcy, as we mentioned in your other post they will more than 99.9% probablilty find out and close your accounts.

Wow I was about a 680 2 years ago, probably the highest I've ever had. I dropped to 510 last year when I stopped paying, I think I'm below that now. Will be filing within a few months.

You are fine, as others have said the trustee does not pull or care about credit scores.

Truly, I could not care less what my scores are before or after filing. I will not be financing anything again. Considering though that I will be paying my student loans like a religion and have no CC debt, my attorney tells me my score a few years after filing will likely be pretty good.

Someone said on here recently though that the whole "building your credit" thing after BK was frequently a route to getting into more trouble. I tend to agree it often is.
