Whats the fastest Online Debt Education Services

I know there is a sticky with this. But most of the posts are years old and I'm sure companies change.

I'm also wondering if I should take one before I retain the attorney? I want to get it out of the way. I've read some people spent 1,2,3 hours. I'm looking for as quick as possible. Can anyone recommend which is the fastest???

The debtor education MUST take 2 hours. It's part of the law.

I used these guys: http://www.personalfinanceeducation.com/Default.aspx for both classes.

Cheap and easy, and they got me my certificates the same day.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. But I was hoping for one with 2hrs worth of info but that didn't have page timers and stuff.

No matter which company you choose to do your post-filing mandatory class, please make certain that it's one that your state approves. You can find that out here - http://www.usdoj.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/ccde/de_approved.htm and then use the drop-down box to pick your state.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

        06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
        06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
        07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
        09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
        08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

        10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

My initial "before" filing educator test only took me 45 minutes. It was all online then I had to call an 800 number to confirm everything and have my certificate faxed. It was all basic knowledge to me.
            9/22/2009 - officially filed chapter 7
            11/03/2009 - scheduled 341 - COMPLETED
01/04/2010 - last day for objections
            01/11/2010 - DISCHARGED & CLOSED

Maybe the law says it should take two hours but I finished the first one in about twenty minutes and the second one even quicker. The test was multiple guess and the incorrect answers were so blatantly wrong it was easy to find the right answer.

The online one that I did was so easy that it took no where near the two hours, though it met the requirement for my state. Youe attorney will have a list of approved courses, too. Mine only cost $19.00.

The two hours is ONLY for the debtor education, not the pre-filing course.

I don't know how you guys got through approved ones that didn't take two hours - you should share the info!

                    Simple, really.

I did an online course that was really, really stupid but approved for my state. I could not believe how stupid it was. It actually told you stuff like what a "transaction" is in a checking account , as if you were in Jr High. It told you things like what "interest" was, as though you were 12 years old.

Newsf;ash to whomever came up with this idiot "education", but very few BK filers got here becuase we were stupid or uneducated. We may have got here via bad choices, but it is the kind of bad choices you make when you have the cheeseburger instead of the fish, not the kind you make because you think the cheesburger is healthfood, but I digress...

Anyway, the entire online thing was in writing, nothing you had to listen to and after each section you took a quiz. They passed you no matter how many you got wrong or right, you just then had to click another box with the correct answers and stating you had read the correct answers. Anyone could pass.

Weird. Maybe it is different for 13 filers (the second course before discharge and after filing). The whole thing took me 45 minutes with 95% accuracy and more on the quiz answers.

Mine was through smartmoneyadvice.com, BUT they may not be approved in your state or district, so get your list from your attorney or court first.
