Chuck, those scores are AWESOME!! Especially after just being discharged! Heck our scores weren't even that good after we worked & worked to bring them up high enough to get approved for our Mrtg in 2007! Wow, I sure hope our scores come up as quickly as yours have.

Oh, also wanted to mention that I believe the only way to acquire true FICO scores are via Myfico.com ...otherwise your scores could be wayyy off To save 25% use code FINANCIALHELP25.

I don't know if you guys are aware of it but you actually have more than 3 credit scores.

You have the scores from each of the three bureau’s, then you have different scoring models for each as well. They have different scoring models for auto loans, mortgages, insurance, credit cards, and your consumer score. The consumer score is what you can get online from myfico.com or experian.com etc. So for example you buy an Experian report online and it says you have a 650 score, the same day you apply for a auto loan and you could have a 680 (if you have positive auto loan history), the same day you apply for a mortgage you could have a 620 (if you have no or negative mortgage history).
And to confuse things further, there are two different versions of Experian mortgage scores (Ver2 and Ver3), and three versions of transunion mortgage scores (98,04,08). I'm not sure if they use these other versions for mortgage, credit card, or insurance scores.

Oh and then there is the 4th secret credit bureau called Innovis, which I don't know much about.

So you really have like 20+ different credit scores depending on the bureau, type of loan, and which version the lender uses.

Most people who pull your credit when you apply for a loan don't even know there are different types and different versions.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone I just thought I'd throw my two cents in.

Credit scores only do so much post bk. Reality is we have a dark cloud over our accounts when we filed for bk, which will will last for 10 years. Regardless of our score, some lenders will probably never lend to us.

It's not doom and gloom but a post bk score is not the equivalent of a pre bk score. When comparing two customers, one with 640 and no bk, while the other with 690 and a recent bk, the first customer is still a lower credit risk. Sure the second person cannot file for eight years but a bk is a bk.

I think my signature says it all ~ not the best scores but better than I thought after BK. A year from now I hope to be back in the mid 700's. Credit Scores rebound steadily after BK if you clean up your credit report, keep current with payments and don't fall back into any credit traps. Cash and carry is my motto.
