Hehe. I got a Ford Edge. The crossover SUV/sedan thing. Its really nice and we are pleased. Much roomier and more practical for us than the corolla we had. If I had known how things were going to go back in March, I wouldn't have gotten a corrola. At the time I figured we were going to have rent, credit cards, loans etc... to have to pay so I went for gas mileage and reliable rather than what I wanted!

Yea! It has really good safety ratings and its fairly good on gas still...for an SUV that is. I had a highlander many years ago and I LOVED IT! So, I too was missing the SUV. Sure my interest rate isn't the best compared to the Corrola, but I wanted to get it done and over with and start rebuilding my credit now. I am very confident that I will be able to refinance it in the next 3-6 months, so I'm not too worried about it. The payments are totally reasonable and we got it below invoice. They are having some great incentives on the Edge for September, which is also another reason why I wanted to do it sooner than later. You never know if next month they will have just as good of an offer or not.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

I am so glad I read this post! I love the interest rate on my 2009 Saturn Aura but I hate driving a sedan. I jumped at whatever they were willing to sell us knowing our credit was about to tank. I was actually afraid the entire time hubby and I signed papers that they would take the deal back. Like they knew we were filing bk in a few months or something. Silly, I know.
Anyway, I hate the idea of making the payments on this car I am not that fond of for the next 5 years and it not being reported to the credit bureau. We have had several Ford Explorers in the past and enjoyed driving them. My company even has a Ford discount program so we might be able to use that. Thanks to the OP for sharing your story. Maybe sometime next year, we will check out Ford. Hubby will not be keeping his Chevy so maybe we can get him a work car and buy the Edge for our family vehicle.Filed: 8-19-09
