mortgage or rent allowance in means test

It says $1643 for a family of four. What if my actual rent is half that? Am I not allowed to use that figure of 1643? I couldn't change it on the means test website (legalconsumer).

What did you put on line 42a?
I think that is where you would put in how much you actually pay for rent and that would then subtract from the allowance.

Ah thanks. I thought it was for mortgages so I didn't fill it out. But not that it changed the figures much...

Well, I have a mortgage so that's how I did it.
I'm not exactly sure how rent works, but doesn't seem like you would be able to claim the full allowance if you pay less. It would be nice though...my mortgage is less than the standard allowance.

Yeah it would be nice. Although I still qualify! Sched I&J, is based on net income over six months, correct? Take home pay?
