Timing of Filing - Tax Refund

I anticipate a big tax refund. Could be as much as $4,000 when combined with State.

Should I file before I receive this refund, and if I do will I even get the refund at all assuming by filing is after 1/1/10? OR

Should I first get the money and then file after I receive the refund?? If so, how long after?

I will bump this for you but I know that I have to put down what I recieved for my 2008 income tax return and probably have to exempt it even though it is long gone, I am not sure how next years will work.
