We met with an attorney this morning and I think we are ready to move forward. We asked him what are the most common mistakes people make when filing - his reply was "well I am not going to let you make any so no need to answer that". I think that made me feel a little more secure with the filing process. His fees were reasonable at $1150 which includes the filing fees. He spent about an hour and 15 minutes with us. It was a relief to know I only need to provide the most recent statements for everything. I don't need several months or years of stuff. Since we have a business with secured debt, he said he would meet with the banker to discuss which way they want to liquidate and how we can get back my husbands truck which is part of the secured debt. That was a relief since we can't stand the current banker. We are at just the beginning of the process but I keep telling myself there is light at the end of the tunnel. I think this is how I am going to make it through this process.

sounds like you have a fantastic lawyer. mine charged $2500 plus filing fees, had to spend only 2.5 hours maybe because my case was extremely simple and i was well organized, and then once i got my discharge and i came to him to ask for help in getting back my money that was frozen in the bank, he basically said i was on my own because his only job was to get my discharge and he's done.
