    Made Offer to Purchase Non Exempt Assets

    I just emailed my lawyer to make an offer to purchase my motor home and car from the BK estate. My family will fund this for me. Then after the Date to File Claims expires, the trustee can distribute and hopefully the case will close sooner. I'll have my IRAS returned to me and I can proceed, pay down my mortgages, and get my Reverse Mortgage in place. Since motor homes are a drag on the market these days it could take forever for the tt to sell it. This is a good decision for me to move forward with my life! :-)

    My 60 days were up yesterday. You all are wonderful with your help and advice. You are keeping me going through this process!!!

    Not to rain on a parade, but we were an asset case and ignorant at that time. The Trustee made US an offer to purchase back our stuff. Some stuff was abandoned as it would have been a drag to sell.

    If you held out, could it have been possible to get some stuff abandoned? We paid $5400 in 12 equal payments of $450 without interest. Of course, we are STILL waiting on the final closer but the rest is over. 'Hub

      Hub,

      I know my Mazda Protege 5 will not be abandoned, and if I wait on the motor home the cost of making the payments on my 1st and 2nd mortgges will far exceed what I can buy the motor home for. I HAVE to do the reverse mortgge so I can live on my social security. There is no room for mortgage payments. I plan to put the motor home on consignment as soon as I get it back and repay the family member when it sells.
