Creditor (former spouse) filed for request for extension of time to object on the last day to object. Why he didn't just file an objection I am not sure, but regardless. My attorney responded with a request to deny extension.
Hearing is this week. The statute says for "cause" the judge can grant the request for an extension.... what would valid cause be? I looked up the judges hearings for the entire week and this is the only creditor request for an extension. My attorney said this is not a common requst and he has only had one request for this previously (and he has been practicing quite a long time) and that was the department of justice. I am sick with anxiety. Creditor had 120 days knowledge of bankruptcy and did not attend 341. More to it, but I am wondering if anyone knows what would be considered valid cause for extension. Chapter 7 no asset case. Thanks!
