Gas Shut Off after Bankruptcy filing

We live in Pennsylvania, and have filed for Bankruptcy under the old laws, we have a 341 date in 2 weeks.

The Gas company (Columbia Gas) has sut off our service!! They tell me that they never got any forms about the Bankruptcy, even though I faxed them myself!! I have contacted my Lawyer and he has contacted the Gas company twice now, the first time the Gas Company told me that they never got any info from the Lawyer, and the second time they tell me it could be weeks before they turn it back on again, if they get the info!!

Does any one know who I can call to correct this problem, they are just ignoring my requests, and notifications of them violating of the law, most of the time the gas company reps are just hanging up on me!!!

Who do I report this too? PLEASE HELP!!! Any info, or a starting point would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Heath

A Proof of Service by Mail would show that you sent them notice. Did you list them on your Creditor's Mailing List Matrix? If so, the court would have mailed your notice to them, and in my district at least, there is a proof of service by mail filed in PACER for the whole list. www.pacer.uscourts.gov

      Here's a Form Letter...

Maybe this would help? Be sure to use a "proof of service" form, too -- have someone hand-deliver it, and request immediate reconnection!

      Name and address of creditor

On ____________________________________, I filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 7 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The case number is _______________________.

I filed my case in pro per; no attorney is assisting me. Or, give your attorneys name...

When did you file, and have you paid for charges since filing? If you fell behind after filing, the utility company may be in the right.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
