    Now I'm just being neurotic

What if they flat out say No?? I'm not hiding anything, but the fact that for a few months I've taken money out at the casino from savings shows up on my statements.
What if they say " you had money to gamble, now suck it up!" This was a pretty healthy addiction of mine, and obviously, this is our rock bottom. I am afraid of stopping paying unsecured debt, and they deny us.. then our intrest rates go up, late fees, plus theres no way we'd ever catch back up. THen what do you do.. its worse than before??

I must clarify, when I was gambling, it was before I knew hubbys job payment plan was switching to basically commission. I've been cold turkey a month now. HUGE step for me, and obvioiusly, no more cc's to do a cash advance on!
    Filing cpt.7 11/09 341- 1/21/10
    Report of no distribution 1/21/10
Scheduled for discharge 3/22/10 (on my 15th wedding anniversary!)

Many people with gambling addictions end up filing for bankruptcy. You are not alone. Do a search on "gambling" and you will find others on this board that also had gambling debts that led to bankruptcy.

The only problems I see are the following:

    1. If the casino gave you a line of credit or an advance and you paid them back before you paid anything else. That would be a preferential payment. But it wouldn't affect you, the trustee would simply go after the casino to get the money back to distribute it amongst all your creditors.

    2. If you have any gambling debts in the last 90 days that are over 500 dollars, those debts would be considered a luxury and would not be dischargeable. If you have recent gambling debts that came off of your credit cards (ie cash advances in casinos), then you need to wait at least six months to let them age before you file.
You can't take a picture of this. It's already gone. ~~Nate, Six Feet Under

I reall y think you are over-thinking this, just wait out the cash advances at least 6 months (our Trustee asked everyone if they cash advanced any large sums within the last 6 months) and you'll be fine.

      Also, I PM'ed you.

As we all know, there are numerous addictions. Your sentence can be adjusted to accommodate various types of addictive spending: "You had money to...shop, smoke, drink, etc. Now suck it up".

The success of casinos isn't based on luck. The beautiful buildings laced with encouraging staff, modern technology, and exciting features are designed to sell a dream. This unrealistic dream is highly profitable. The harsh reality is casinos cater to losers.

Don't beat yourself up. You've made two positive decisions to propel yourself toward a fresh start and stable lifestyle. Congrats on becoming game-free! Wishing you a winning future!
