Going to file, what about our small business?

Its very small.. basically we DJ a few weddings, no employees, etc. We do have a seperate checking account for it, because people like to write there wedding checks to a company, not a person.
But its all under my husbands social #, and we file any earnings under personal taxes, not as a seperate business.

Do I just make copies of all that paperwork for the atty. as well? It hardly carries a balance in that checking account.. it just helps us keep our head above water., and thats not even working!

Have a meeting with atty. next week, just trying to put my mind at ease a little!
    Filing cpt.7 11/09 341- 1/21/10
    Report of no distribution 1/21/10
Scheduled for discharge 3/22/10 (on my 15th wedding anniversary!)

Yes, make copies of that paperwork for your atty. He'll need to know every source of income you have, even if it's a small side business.
Pay no attention to anything I post. I graduated last in my class from a fly-by-night law school that no longer exists; I never studied or went to class; and I only post on internet forums when I'm too drunk to crawl away from the computer.

I am self employed as well (sole proprietor) so our taxes are filed under my social security number as well. Our attorney needed a profit and loss statement for the past 6 months and bank statements. I have heard that with being self employed there is a lot more paperwork, but we gave everything to our attorney and that was that. Our 341 is in a couple of weeks and I was worried about what to take and the attorney said just copies of my husbands paystubs and not even to bring a current profit and loss, but I will be prepared just in case.

Good luck! It has gone through pretty smooth so far and most attorneys are familiar with the Trustees so they know what you need to bring.

We do have business debt that is included in our personal bankruptcy since we are not a corporation or anything like that. It is just handled all as personal debt.
