An introduction - about to file Chapter 7

Hello everyone. I have felt so alone the past few weeks and really needed someone to talk to so I am very glad I found this forum. I have created a horrible situation for myself and of course got myself into a world of hurt with credit card debt. I haven't been able to pay any of them for a year and was finally served with papers for my first lawsuit by Capital One last week. I have a mediation hearing next week on the 24th. I had been thinking about filing Chapter 7 but was unable to face the reality of my situation. Now I am and must face the reality and I am scared, sick and so overwhelmed. I cannot afford a lawyer right now. We just don't have any extra money. I'm smart enough to figure everything out but I get nervous when I read different answers to the same question. One of which is this:

When listing the unsecured non priority claims on Schedule E in the NOLO book (awesome by the way!) it states that one debt can have several entries. Do I list all of the individual entries? For example: Capital One - the original debt, was sold to a collection agency, and is now in the hands of the attorney? I am just really confused by that. Why wouldn't I just list the attorney and Capital One.

Well I am off to read some more and get my ducks in a row. It's nice to be here.

Debts, especially cc, get sold multiple times so what I did was take the last statement from each and listed them as creditors as all had different amounts due and different account numbers. If the attorney is sueing on behalf of the original creditor, you need not list the attorney.
Filed Ch7 5/28/09 (Pro Se) Orlando, 341 7/01, UST selected case for audit 7/01, Last day for objection 8/31. Audit report filed 9/10, no material misstatements. Discharged and closed 9/22/2009
