    Question about Christmas

My husband and I are meeting with a lawyer for the first time today. Consumer Credit Counseling Service couldn't help us enough to make it worth our time so here we are. So the question is, I know I won't be able to spend my money frivolously after we file but if I'm able to keep my exempt cash ($6000 per person cash exemption in Maryland) am I allowed to spend it for Christmas presents for my children? I'm not looking to spend thousands or anything. Just like $150 per kid.

So what do you think? Oh and Hi

i think you can spend up to $200 per family member for gifts during the year before bk. i don't think you need to use your exemptions for that.

Oh ok. I'll definitely ask the lawyer about that too, but I was just curious. Thanks!
