I don't think there's any reason to panic. Until you are 90 days late the mortgage company wouldn't bother to even think about starting foreclosure. They probably won't even bat an eye and send you a late notice asking you to pay until 30 days late. Just make the payment this week and make sure to stay on time from now on. But seriously, don't lose any sleep over a payment that is likely within or just over the grace period.

no first mort was due 8/1 and again 9/1... they are both late. 2nd was due 9/1 and is late too.. but this one hopefully they will be ok on.
during the bankruptcy and after (considering i want to keep the home), i have to be on time, or within the grace perhaps, but i am over... and it's not good. i'm calling them tomorrow, will post an update.
thanks for yours and others' comments.

Update - I slept just over an hour last night, freaked out otherwise. I should have listened to everyone. If this happens to you, just call the next day!
1st Mort (Chase), will allow payment scheduled on Thursday for both months (the reason I am waiting until Thursday is because funds will be in my account Wednesday but they could pull the payment before they are officially deposited), and I'll pay 1 month late fee. She said late fees are due over the life of loan and it would not cause a problem on discharge. Can anyone verify this? (I am a little short but would turn in all my change if I had to).
2nd Mort (GreenTree), will allow payment scheduled for Wednesday (I'll deposit cash tomorrow). No late fees that she had on record. But I will call again Thursday to verify.
Thanks to everyone. I'll see how this week goes...discharge is suppose to happen in 7 days.

This is very confusing to me. I just had my 341 today. I am currently 60 days late on my mortgage and working with the bank on a modification. Niether my lawyer nor the bank think its a big deal... they are going to do the modification before discharge and i will sign a new loan and a reaffirmation. The trustee never even once asked about my house.
Im pretty sure this is all up to the bank as to wether or not its a big deal if you are current during your bankruptcy. In this economy the last thing they want is another worthless house like mine with an inground pool they would be responsible for!

What if I'm late within the 15 days limit of BofA? i.e before the 30th of the month. I just have to eat up the late charges so far two months already and most likely in the following months as well. I will have to file in December, can I justify it by major car repair? Thanks in advanced.File BK7: Jan 4, 2010
