Help again, Q's - please direct me, on spending etc.

Our meeting with lawyer was quick, he seemed "confident"!! for California, kept bringing up $25K as our exempts... We don't have many assets worth discussing.

Our bedframe broke almost 2 mos ago, we were budgeting so, anyway I found something for $150 at IKEA, if we purchased this, plus a few shelves before we file, is this acceptable?

Also, another In July we bought 2 tix to see our (never met) goddaughter... Honestly we bought these airlines tix before we even thought of BK (lodging for free)... but here's my quandry. Our destination is 2.5 hrs from airport. I reserved rental car long ago. I called and they said no debit cards or pre-paid visas. Am I dreaming that I can keep paying the $13/mo pmt to keep the car (I plan to pay cash; just need CC to let us book the car at desk)?

The CCs are already calling... we plan to file mid Nov. The trip is 1st wk of Nov. (please don't chastise us, we figured we won't have any trips for a long time coming... will we be turned away at Budget?)

I wrote this last night when I was tired. Sorry.

I'm just a little freaked about some of this stuff... really just want to know if buying a bed frame would be considered frivolous?

Are you putting it on a credit card (just curious)? I would say no to your question. The Trustee looks at your bank statements, but I think they are looking for large deposits, transfers, etc.

H*** no!! No this would be with cash, we've got a check coming back from our rental deposit (we paid for new deposit and will have some overlap)... Wanted to spend on things we need, but wasn't sure if furniture can be something to buy.

Buying a bed frame with cash will not be a red flag for the trustee at all.
You can't take a picture of this. It's already gone. ~~Nate, Six Feet Under

I agree with the others. You're paying cash for a reasonable bed frame...no red flag. Just be careful of that blue and yellow IKEA flag...getting through that place without purchasing items you don't need can be challenging!

              Happy shopping and sweet dreams!
