...recently opened a new checking acct because of info found here on the forum, is it ok to pay mortgage payments with these checks? the bank with mortgage would be included in a ch 7 for other unsecured amounts, cc's and overdrafts, but I'll still be paying mortgage 1 & 2 after BK

Absolutely. The bank can only automatically attach your account if you owe them money. If you have opened up a new bank account with a bank that you do not owe money to, I would not worry about it.
