If they don't ask, don't tell. Otherwise, don't ever try and cover up a material fact. JMO.
Filed Ch7 5/28/09 (Pro Se) Orlando, 341 7/01, UST selected case for audit 7/01, Last day for objection 8/31. Audit report filed 9/10, no material misstatements. Discharged and closed 9/22/2009

It's probably just a criminal background check. Unless exchange of money is involved, it's unlikely a prospective employer would run a credit check.

If the prospective employer asks directly, "Have you ever filed bankruptcy?", don't lie. However, if they don't ask about bankruptcy, don't volunteer it either.

Background checks are usually for criminal history only. Even though some places call it a consumer credit report or otherwise, they are required to disclose the background check because it falls under the FRCA and/or FDCPA or something.
        Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10

Are we all in danger because you told us this? I saw Enemy of the State a couple days ago and I think we are all screwed now. Great, haha.
