The cities you named would be considered near the coast and are desirable suburbs. They are not inexpensive like the podunk towns in the middle of nowhere such as where you lived. Property taxes run about 2-3% of the home's price, generally speaking. Plus homeowner's insurance is outrageous and newer neighborhoods have CDD fees and HOA dues on top of the tax bills. You whined a few weeks ago that you would need $300-600k to buy a decent house in your area and how it would take a 6 figure income to get by. Now a month later it's suddenly dirt cheap and anyone can move here and be a CEO!

As for the rental you posted, you are comparing apples to oranges. That is a condo, and we have no idea what kind of property the poster pays $2300/month for. I'm sure something comparable would be a similar price in Miami.

        Apparently you don't either, DM.

You've hijacked this thread from the OP long enough. Your continued insistence that you are right and others are wrong is going nowhere. This thread is now closed to further posts.

And DebtMonster, if you continue this pattern of baiting posts that hijack other threads, this time you will be permanently banned. You have a lot of offer and a lot to learn here. Be smart. If you want to continue as a member, these repetitive, argumentative "I'm right and you aren't" posts must stop now. You've been warned.
