If your vehicles are registered in a different state than the one you file in how will the trustee know you own those vehicles?

I don't see how that's playing with fire. As long as you state that you have the vehicles, you're not hiding anything. It doesn't matter where they are registered. You just need to give them back when you're told to give them back.
