    341 Meeting Results - Screwed!

    joking joking.

Recently had the 341 meeting myself. The process was straight forward. The trustee was a take no bull old-school trustee. I was done with in under 2 minutes. Standard 10 basic questions and he wished me the best of luck.

I do not even have any stories to share as most people's 341 was straight forward too.

One thing that was interesting is that there were a few no-shows, which I thought is weird as that is grounds for dismissal. Who in their right mind would miss a 341?

Other observation was the quality of lawyers. Some people did have run of the mill lawyers but there was one or two who were both compassionate and on the ball. One of his clients, and old Asian lady, was extremely grateful to him. I really felt for her and felt her gratitude. I wish I got the dam lawyers name so I could pass it on to people. It truly does pay to do your homework and look for these types of lawyers.

Edit: Nearly forgot, he did not ask for bank statements, just the balance on the date of filing. I handed them over a printout and an ATM receipt and he was was fine with it and then handed them back to my lawyer.

They didn't even ask for any bank statements at my 341, nor a balance or anything personal. I was in shock. They made it so easy.

I just hope that there are no objections in the next 60 days. I can't afford to pay more attorney fees on top of the $3,000 I already paid. I need to worry about saving up for a car after they take the ones I have since I am not re-affirming anything.

Take a picture and post it the way I did. Just use Photoshop and blur out any faces.

I'd advise against this. Most likely your 341 meeting will be located in a Federal building where cell phones and other electronic devices are NOT permitted.

At my 341 a couple was instructed to take their cell phones back to their cars or leave them out in the open at the security desk.

I noticed you mentioned 10 standard questions - I did a search, but could not anything that refers to those questions. Where can I find that information? Sorry if this is a stupid question...

Every trustee, district, state would have their own questions.

Standard as in: did you read the petition before signing it, have you listed all of your debts, have you listed all of your assets, what is your telephone number, do you still live at this address, what is your cell number, have you previously filed, and what is your work number. That is about it.

Oh, okay. I think I'm making more out of this...but I guess it's so stressful until you've been through it.

I really like the support this forum offers. What a god-send!

                      Thanks again!

There are ten required questions. These are set by the UST and are for every district. That does not mean that they are always followed, or that there aren't variations or additions depending on district.

They are here, as well as in the NOLO book:
