They want a CarFax of the vehicle and everything.

They told me that if you want to keep your car, you have to go through the court and everything gets processed with your attorney.

If you finance a replacement vehicle, then you don't have to go through the court and can just do private financing.

If they will approve me, I will buy the 2008 $12,000 dollar car up the street that has 7,000 miles on it. What do you think about that?

At least it will help me rebuild my credit.
I think its a great way to rebuild your credit, and you can refinance it in a year or so to lower the 23% interest. The important part is that it will be reliable transportation and a positive trade line on your credit report.

At 24.99%, I was planning to pay the car off in 8 months or less. I would not want to drag that out.

LOL, I certainly don't blame you on wanting to pay it off quickly, but the longer you have it on your reports as an active, open, positive tradeline, the more it will help your credit score moving forward.

That will REALLY drive that bank insane. That thing is depreciating badly every single month. Expensive cars always do.

Can I get a "YEE HAW!!!!"?

WTG on keeping your vehicles so long without paying on them.

For us, it was just easier to surrender ours so we didn't have to keep it in the garage constantly & worry that it wouldn't be there one day when we came out of Walmart. My kids would have freaked out if they would have taken it while we were out somewhere. We also didn't want our neighbors to see it get repo'd.
We were fortunate to have been able to finance something only a yr older then the vehicle we surrendered... and the payment is 1/2 what it was on the one we surrendered (2006 with 40K miles). All in all I feel we made the right move.

The neighbors have already seen 2 of my previous cars getting repo'd. I really don't care.

The reason they can't find them is because I moved 350 miles away from the address where they think the car is. I'm not worried.

I may have to disable the OnStar in the Saturn so they don't track it.

The fact is that plan "IS" in my "best interest". But if it doesn't work, then I need a contingency plan. That contingency plan is to either make a cash offer to the bank or go out and try to buy a car from a dealer or at some kind of car auction.

My lawyer was able to keep that one client in his car for a very long time. Maybe his circumstances were different than mine. Who knows? But what if I plan on keeping my car only to get a rude awakening that I really can't? I don't want to be caught with my pants down. You always hope for the best and plan for the worst.

Planning is the key and that's the whole reason why we are all here, right? Let's share plans and help each other with ideas.
Maybe I'm confused but I thought you previously stated your attorney could ensure you could keep your car, not have to give it back and that he has done that lots of times for clients...and that that was one of the reasons why you switched attorneys...Now all of a sudden your attorney kept "one" client in his car for a very long time and now all of a sudden it's due to "different circumstances." What caused the massive change/turnaround here and all the misinformation?

Didn't you have to list these car loans on your schedules with your current address so the lenders could be notified of your BK?

I am assuming you don't have lojack or something in the bmw. Most higher end cars have something like lojack installed from the factory.
