I was just discharged yesterday 8/28/09 and per PACER I am waiting on the case being closed.

Your question, Discharged is you are done, closed is paperwork to go before the Judge and is just finishing up the legalities.If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Closing of the case, on the other hand, is simply an administrative act by the court considering the case to be fully administered and removing it from the active docket.
