This question has received several different responses, so I figured I would ask more intelligent people.
My good friend lives with her boyfriend and they have children together. She is in serious debt, and now is in need of some relief. She has contacted several attorneys with varying responses. She was told by some that yes she can file for bankruptcy and his income WOULD NOT be taken into consideration. However there are others that state that his income would most certainly come into play when discussing her ability to repay.
Please help. One attorney has told her that it would cost 2500 to retain him and he could absolutely have her debts discharged WITHOUT his income. She is deathly afraid of giving 2500 to this attorney and he not do anything to get her debts discharged.
