      I wish you the best of luck but quite a few posters raised a number of crucial points.

      On a side note, not that I am judging but paying for a girlfriends child to attend private school does raise an eyebrow. Particularly if the kids biological parents are not paying for it. A don't believe a court would side with you on that expense.

        Hopefully you've chosen a seasoned Attorney. Many have a pretty good grasp on what flies and what wont.

          Please don't take anything I posted as being too strong. I want you to understand what types of questions may be asked. If you're lucky... they won't dig into these expenses.

            FWIW, per our atty, if the minor child is not claimed as a dependent on another's taxes you may be able to claim him/her in the means test if you provide support. What's the chance you are "common law married"? Here is AL it can happen scarily fast.
