Mom Is in Debt-Iam legal Power of attorney

HELP!! My mom has 100,000 in debt and I am her legal power of attorney. How do I file for her? Any advice would be so welcomed.

More information would help. If your moms only source of income is social security and possibly some pensions she would be judgement proof and would not need to file for banckruptcy. What are the reasons for filing? Is there property your trying to protect?

Her only income source is a $69.00 retirement check monthly and $998.00 social security. Her debts are about 100,000. She has no property or cars. I just dont know what to do about the credit cards she owes on. i can not afford to pay them. I so appreciate your advice.

She is judgement proof, no creditor can touch that income. Talk to an attorney about it to make sure shes cover however, I'm sure you can get a free consultation. You do not owe that money do not pay it yourself, and they can't get it from her.

In essence, Don't pay them and don't worry about it, no expensive banckruptcy nessesary.
