Can the trustee take this after 341 ?

Hubby just found out that he will recieve a bonus of $500.00 this coming pay day, due to the plant he works for did an awesome job and came in first place, above the rest of the sister plants.. So seeing that I already had my 341, can the trustee come an take this money from us ??

Gosh i would love to put most of it into a savings account... and maybe have a nice family night out..

I doubt the Trustee will want your bonus. Unless you win the lottery, the Trustee will most probably leave you alone.

It isn't that large an amount, so I doubt the trustee will be interested as it isn't worth his time and money to go after. If it were $1000.00 or more then he might be interested.

I'd use the money to buy store-able goods such as food, canned good, soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, paper towels and toilet paper. If you live in a hurricane-prone (or other disaster) area, build an emergency kit.

You might want to stash a $100.00 bill in your's and the spouse's wallets--to be forgotten about and to be used ONLY for a true emergency, NOT oh dear, there isn't enough money in the account. 'Hub and I went to visit his brother in Tennessee. Enroute we broke down on I-26 in the mountainous area that is very dangerous. The only way off the mountain was a roll-back tow truck. The only money we had on us was the $100.00 in 'Hub's wallet.

DO you have room to exempt the 500? If so no problem, if not, then maybe tell the atty about it...

My hubby got several bonuses before and after our 341 and the trustee never brought it up. The bonuses were for more than $500. To ease your mind check with your lawyer. Good luck.

From filing until 341 I continued to ask my attorney about my "extra" pay - I get paid an extra $5.50/hr when I work on sheet metal that is going to the detroit area. This adds up to be a lot of money since about 30% of my paycheck is detroit hours. Add the occassional overtime and it's really a lot of money.

She said, "we're not worried about extra pay, bonuses, and overtime since they're not guaranteed." I just said ok and quit asking her about it.
