Hi all - at the advice of lawyer we opened a new checking because one of the cards that will be incl in bk7 is with our credit union. I feel bad and sad... but anyway - we opened a new checking today and for some reason I felt like I was hiding some big secret, and of course, while they punched in our info they said OH! you are eligible for a visa with us. When we declined he seemed to think that was odd. I said, "we're not opening new credit, we have enough". Then as we left I wondered, will our new bank have any way of finding out about the bk7?
So my question, can a bank in which you owe nothing to close your account if you file? Can they find this out? (if we're not applying for anything with them?)
kinda freaking.
