Undeliverable Mail to Creditors

The US Postal Service has returned three "Notice of Proceeding" that were mailed out to three different creditors. The notices were marked "Return to Sender, Not Deliverable as Addressed, Unable to Forward".

If I had that situation, I would do some research on the web to try and track down new addresses... are they collection accounts, or original creditors? If they don't get notice, I think the debt can survive the discharge... not sure about that... but, if you can prove you listed them, maybe not???

Are they still in business? Did they move? Did they sell the debt to a collection agency? Delinquent debts can be sold for pennies on the dollar... until the statute of limitations runs out! It's called factoring, and it's a business.

Use your favorite search engine, or www.switchboard.com or www.anywho.com or similar sites to see what you can find in the phonebooks... make some phone calls and ask where you can mail a payment!

or call the creditors up and get a fax # to fax them a copy or the petition.
