Bonus from work...

I am due a small bonus from work, pre tax around $500, how will this affect my filing when the time comes, around november or december?

I am considering filling the freezer with beef and pork.

Fill the freezer. Also buy storable commodities such as canned goods. But do not forget things such as soaps, shampoos, dish and laundry soaps, paper towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and especially toilet paper.

Don't forget emergency supplies like batteries, flashlights, radios, a case of potable water. Enough supplies to be self sufficient for at least 7 days, more if you can afford it. I'm in Florida, can you tell?

You are allowed to spend your money on such as these types of things.

Well... you can exempt food. Keep receipts?

Yes, you can exempt food and supplies.

As for receipts, it is always wise to keep those. Put them in an envelope where heat and/or the sun does not get to some of the paper that fades with heat and sunlight.
