Just moved and need to file....

Hi all - I have been thinking about filing for a while now. But I have a question that may determine when we are actually allowed to file.

We recently moved from FL to MA to return to family. We own a home in FL that has a mortgage & HOA fees = $1321/month. We currently have a renter in the home that brings in $850 a month. House is worth (approx) $130 and we owe $160. We would like to keep the house, simply because I don't want to screw over our renter.

We have two cars with payments of $265 and $305 that we would like to keep. We owe on each car approximately what they are worth or maybe a little more.

My question is: is our recent move going to affect when we can file? I thought I read somewhere 180 days, but I'm not sure. We have stopped payment on our CCs because we just can't afford them. We both just started working again, and we are just starting to get our first paychecks. We also are living with family, and need to find somewhere to rent. I'm assuming we should be in our rental before filing?

    Any help would be appreciated!
