PACER: How do I find a Chapter 7 BK case in MO without racking up a lot of...

I am signed up at PACER and ready to go, but how do I find a recent Chapter 7 BK case in MO without racking up a lot of charges by searching for one? Is there a place where I can view recent case numbers for free, then go to PACER and search for that particular case? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!!!

What are you looking for exactly? I don't know of a way to get case numbers. You can search by name, but not for free. I don't know of anyway to review someone's case for free, never have seen that on here either. Will be checking maybe someone knows a trick I don't. I was looking on pacer and found alot of names we know, but made myself quit, it can be addictive looking at all the people you know who have filed. Makes me wonder if they found our name yet! LOL

Without racking up a bunch of charges, I would like to find married filing jointly Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases in MO that have been successfully discharged. I don't care who the people are, I just want to review their paperwork.

I don't think there is a way that is free. Sorry. I did a few random searches on Pacer, found some married filing jointly in our district, but it wasn't free.

And will you get charged for each result that the search returned? Per page of results or per name returned?

For the Eastern Missouri Bankruptcy Court, I am not able to search by date or specific type of filing. I searched for a particular last name and got six pages of results, then had click each one to look for a filing jointly ch. 7 case. That will get expensive fast.

Can you use the name of the trustee in the search? that might narrow it down

OK, I found the right search page. I was on the Eastern MO page, but now I am on the U.S. page.

Yes, I found exactly what I am looking for, but I am not sure which link to click. It is $.08 per page, and I don't want to mess up and click a link with 100 pages. I am reading the manual now.

you'd go on docket report or history/documents. that will cost .08. then look at the names of documents. different people file different schedules under different names, but usually it's in the "petition". there is a 30-page limit on viewing documents (there is no such limit in general searches) so you won't pay more than $2.40 for a document.
