When I was in my 341, I had to provide the name and address to my ex whom I pay child support to. Mind you, I have never missed a payment.. Why do they need this? Are they going to notify her?..That would suck.

If she is not a creditor I am not sure why they would notify her, and of what? -
The current bk law Sec 704(a)(10) mandates that your trustee "...if, with respect to an individual debtor, there is a claim for a domestic support obligation, provide the applicable notification." http://www.doney.net/bra/704.htm
Since you are paying child support to your wife, she will be notified by the court through the mail that you filed for Ch 7 and when your case is discharged.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

If you are paying child support to your ex for the benefit of your child/children and/or alimony your ex is a priority creditor. A domestic support obligation is a priority debt. Even though you are not late, it is still an indebtedness. All creditors are notifiedComment
