Originally posted by hereforinfo View PostAccording to your posts in the other thread, you "throttle" your income down to zero on your tax returns.
If you got a 1099 for $60,000 and had $20,000 in expenses, you now have made a gross of $40,000.
If you got a W-2 for $60,000, you didn't have $20,000 in expenses because you're working for somebody else. So you grossed $60,000 and that's that. End of story. You can't throttle down anything without some kind of home business on top of this.

Originally posted by hereforinfo View PostNot true. There are tons of other legitimate tax deductions one can take. You're rich. You shouldn't even be messing with bankruptcy. Most of us can barely afford one house and you have more than one. I don't feel sorry for you in the least bit. Anyone who can afford more than 1 home, I don't feel any pity for.
You shouldn't even be on a bankruptcy forum to start with. So stop wasting our time and leave.

First of all, I'm not in bankruptcy. This is a public forum and is open to anyone.
I know that those deductions are available whether one is 1099 or W-2. I was responding to your comment that someone who is W-2 is paying taxes on their gross earnings and "that's that, end of story." That is not the end of the story because there are plenty of ways to reduce your taxable income besides joining some stupid pyramid scam, I mean scheme.
